Advances in Cardiac Technology

Danbury Hospital and Masonicare of Newtown invite the community to a discussion entitled “The Latest Advances in Cardiac Technology: Diagnosis and Therapy”. The program is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19 at noon at Masonicare of Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road, Sandy Hook, CT, and a free lunch will be served.
Learn the ins and outs of heart disease and how it may affect your own health. You will become familiar with the risk factors and discover ways to keep your heart healthy. This talk will introduce you to the latest in diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in cardiac disease including TAVI, DES, VAD, Bi-V/CRT, PET-CT, IVUS, 3-D Echo, and more. Guest speaker Cardiologist Harvey M. Kramer, MD, FACC, FACP, a frequent lecturer and author regarding cardiovascular diseases, will lead the discussion.
Harvey M. Kramer, MD, FACC, FACP is a Cardiologist at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, CT and Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Kramer is a non-invasive cardiologist with a particular interest in preventive cardiology. He is the Director of Cardiovascular Disease Prevention at Danbury Hospital and is the Medical Director of Southbury Cardiology. He has lectured extensively on cardiovascular disease prevention as well as on lipid disorders and hypertension. In his practice of clinical cardiology, he deals with general cardiology, preventive cardiology, congestive heart failure, valvular and ischemic heart disease, arrhythmias, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. In addition to being board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, and echocardiography,  he is also designated as a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Kramer has a special interest in women's heart disease, and has recently co-authored a book on this subject entitled A Woman's Guide to Heart Attack Recovery, published in June, 2007.
