But what if you could share a page, edit it to your liking and get real-time analytics about page views?
That's the new service offered by BO.LT which launched yesterday, according to TechCrunch.
After a simple one-time sign up, you can paste in any URL, which is then shortened. The page is saved on BO.LT's server. You can edit the page, for whatever reason, by changing fonts, and/or editing or deleting text and images using either the company's HTML editor or visual editor.
The people you share the page with can do the same.
If you want, you can receive real-time analytics about views from Facebook, Twitter and Google.
According to a statement on BO.LT's site, "… we have realized that web pages are being held back because while they are tightly linked to one another, they are not connected to you. We have built Bo.lt to help turn the pages of the web into 'Social Objects' that can be remixed and shared to be, well, less boring."
On the same page there is a video demonstration that shows a web page with a house for sale. Before sending the page to someone, you could delete the price of the house and the street address, for example.
According to the spokesperson on the video, you are not affecting the actual page, just the version(s) stored on their servers.
